Beach Body Workouts Summer 2015

Shaping up Your Summer Beach Body

Are you ready to reveal your body at the beach this summer? You may answer, "yes" if you've continued to do the Spring Break Beach Body Workouts, Core Workouts or any variation of the workouts you find in the HGH blog posts. Who knows? Maybe you're already ripped and raring to go because you've faithfully done the Beach Body Workouts we posted last summer. If you're not ready, then there's still time to get into show-off shape and hit the beach this summer.

Whether you're looking to sport a buff beach body or just want to switch up your workout routine a bit, we've found even more beach body workouts for you. We also have some of the hottest bodybuilding supplements to help you achieve the most incredible beach body you've ever had. Check out these YouTube videos we found from Tony Horton and Autumn Calabres. Plus, take a look at the updated Beach Body Workout and Motivation Pinterest board.

Beachbody Live with Tony Horton

Have some fun with Tony Horton and a few of his friends for a fat-blasting workout. To start out the video, Tony and his exercise companions show us how to do several important workout moves. During this workout video you’ll learn about the bottom, middle and top floors, as well as the hook, elbow, sprawl and up. Then, he mixes it up with a little yoga mix for downward dog crunches. He also shows a few of his favorite moves. After that, he’ll take you through a full-body workout using the moves you’ve just experienced and some new ones you’ll learn along the way.

Get a Core Workout with Autumn Fitness

Looking to get some hard core abs? Fitness Trainer Autumn Calabres takes you through some exercises to help you achieve a fit core. As you workout your core muscles, you'll also be strengthening and flattening your abs, while stabilizing your lower back, and improving your balance and coordination. Workout alongside Autumn for 10 reps for each of these five moves.

  • Spiderman
  • 2Knee Drivers
  • Dolphin
  • Single-Leg Teaser
  • Single-Leg Stretch

Beach Body Workout for Buns and Legs

Fitness Trainer Autumn Calabres shares another great beach body workout focusing on the lower body. In this video, she spotlights exercises for your glutes and legs with a fun workout that's even better when you exercise at the beach. By taking on this workout on the beach sand, it'll give you a more stimulating workout that also allows you to easily switch up the intensity level. For a lower impact workout, you can do these exercises in the wet sand. If you want a more intense workout, go into the softer sand. The beach sand also challenges your balance to strengthen your core even more. Autumn will walk you through each of the seven exercises for this beach body workout.

  • Lateral Squats
  • Walking Lunges
  • Side Shuffles
  • Bridges
  • Suicides
  • Line Jumps
  • Side Lunge and Drag

“Holiday workout” may seem like an oxymoron during this time of year when Halloween treats are still lurking around your house, you’re ready to gobble up some Thanksgiving turkey, and holiday parties and celebrations are right around the corner. The Secret to Sticking to Your Diet During the Holidays

How can you keep working toward your fitness goals throughout the holidays? Daniel and Kelly from Fitness Blender answer this question in a way that may surprise you. One of the major keys is to enjoy yourself, and stay away from the worry and guilt. The reality is that if you stick to your usual routine except for the few holidays, you should be fine to indulge on those days. It’s okay to splurge a little here and there, if you keep working out and eating clean the rest of the time. The real secret is to stay away from all of the treats coming into the workplace. If you do have some indulgences, don’t skip meals to try to counteract it. This won’t help at all in the long run. There’s a fun blooper section at the end of this video as well.

L-Tyrosine Benefits, Uses, Side Effects and Functions

Discover the Function, Sources and Benefits of the Health Supplement Ingredient L-Tyrosine, or 2-Amino-3-(4-Hydroxyphenyl)-Propanoic acid

Tyrosine – also known as L-tyrosine and 2-amino-3-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-propanoic acid – is an amino acid that is found in certain foods and produced by the body. It serves as a building block of neurotransmitters and protein, and supports proper organ function. Individuals seeking to boost their levels of L-tyrosine can obtain it through food sources as well as in natural health and bodybuilding supplements such as HGH 30,000 Nanograms, HGF-MAX, A-Max 50 and whey protein mixes.

Functions of L-Tyrosine

As an amino acid, L-tyrosine plays a role in protein synthesis. It is also critical for the production of three key neurotransmitters – epinephrine, norepinephrine and dopamine – that support the nervous system and influence mood, and it is involved in the production of melanin (skin pigments). Finally, L-tyrosine helps to maintain proper function of the thyroid, pituitary and adrenal glands, which are responsible for producing and regulating hormones.

Sources of L-Tyrosine

The body naturally manufactures tyrosine from another amino acid called phenylalanine. Dietary sources of tyrosine include soy, eggs, turkey, chicken, fish, dairy (cheese, milk, cottage cheese, yogurt), pork, beef, beans, peanuts, mustard greens, spinach, pumpkin seeds, and seaweed. L-tyrosine may also be consumed as an ingredient within natural dietary supplements.

L-Tyrosine Benefits and Uses

Since tyrosine is involved in producing epinephrine, norepinephrine and dopamine, it appears to help the body manage the effects of stress. Studies suggest that L-tyrosine may help to enhance memory and mental function under physical and psychological stress, including lack of sleep. It also has been shown to reduce fatigue and increase alertness in individuals who are sleep-deprived.

Numerous sources suggest that L-tyrosine functions as a natural human growth hormone (HGH) releaser, also known as an HGH secretagogue. For this reason, L-tyrosine is believed to have a beneficial effect on athletic performance, helping to build muscle and increase endurance.

Side Effects of L-Tyrosine and Potential Interactions

L-tyrosine supplements are generally considered safe for adults. Some people may experience minor side effects such as nausea, headaches and upset stomach, particularly at high dosages. However, individuals who have been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid) or Graves disease should avoid L-tyrosine supplements, as they can exacerbate these conditions due to increased production of thyroxine.

Interactions are possible with some medications. L-tyrosine has the potential to elevate thyroxine levels too high when taken in combination with synthetic thyroid hormones, and it may interfere with the absorption of levodopa (L-dopa) in patients with Parkinson’s disease. L-tyrosine supplements may also cause a severe increase in blood pressure when taken with a class of antidepressant medications known as monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs). More detailed safety information on L-tyrosine side effects and interactions can be found on the University of Maryland Medical Center website. As with any medication or health supplement, it is best to consult your physician before taking dietary supplements containing L-tyrosine.

L-Tyrosine Research and Studies

Numerous research studies have explored the impact of L-tyrosine supplements on mental function, memory and alertness, particularly in relation to physical and psychological stress such as sleep deprivation and cold exposure. One such study published in the Brain Research Bulletin examined the effects of L-tyrosine on cadets during a weeklong military combat training course, and found that supplementation improved cognitive performance while reducing systolic blood pressure. Another group of researchers reported in Aviation Space and Environmental Medicine that L-tyrosine supplements had the ability to counteract cognitive performance decreases in subjects required to perform continuous work after losing a night’s sleep. Similarly, an article in Physiology & Behavior stated that L-tyrosine supplements helped alleviate working memory decrements in subjects exposed to severe cold.

In Amino Acids and Proteins for the Athlete: The Anabolic Edge, author Mauro G. Di Pasquale asserted that amino acids such as tyrosine, arginine, leucine and gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) all may potentiate HGH secretion. Research into L-tyrosine’s effects on athletic performance, muscle growth and endurance remains ongoing; however, clinical evidence in support of these benefits has not yet been published.

For additional L-tyrosine research, refer to the PubMed site sponsored by the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

HGH.com Supplements With L-Tyrosine

Athletes, bodybuilders and fitness enthusiasts can harness the benefits of L-tyrosine with natural HGH releasers and bodybuilding supplements from HGH.com:

HGH 30,000 Pills and HGH 30,000 Spray – Available in both capsule and spray forms, HGH 30,000 Nanograms promotes HGH production with a powerful combination of L-group amino acids, including L-tyrosine. These oral supplements support muscle growth, fat-burning, increased energy and other benefits.

HGF MAX – These bodybuilding supplements are formulated to naturally boost HGH production with ingredients such as L-tyrosine and other amino acids, which help to build muscle, enhance muscle tone, increase metabolism and improve stamina.

Anapolan Max 50 (A-Max 50) – Designed to help bodybuilders achieve rapid muscle mass increases, A-Max 50 features L-tyrosine and other active ingredients to promote lean muscle gain, stimulate HGH production and elevate testosterone levels.

Multi-Pro Chocolate Whey Protein – With nearly 500 milligrams of L-tyrosine and 24 grams of protein per serving, Multi-Pro is a complete protein supplement that is intended to help users build muscle, reduce body fat and improve the immune system.

CytoSport Vanilla Whey Protein – One serving of low-fat, low-lactose, CytoSport whey protein contains 3 grams of L-tyrosine and a full 18 grams of protein. It is formulated to aid in developing lean muscle mass and recovering more quickly after intense training.

TakeOFF Maximum Catalyst – Tyrosine is intended to fulfill several functions in the TakeOFF fat-burner formula: raising norepinephrine levels to promote thermogenesis, restoring neurotransmitters to support mental focus and improving thyroid function to boost metabolism.

NxLabs Plasmavol and NxLabs Pump System – These NxLabs supplements contain amino acids such as L-tyrosine to help boost nitric oxide production, improve muscle pumps and vascularity, and increase strength.

Capros® Indian Gooseberry Benefits, Uses, Side Effects and Functions

Discover the Function, Sources and Benefits of the Health Supplement Ingredient Capros® Amla Fruit Extract

Capros® is a multi-patented, standardized extract of the Emblica officinalis (Phyllanthus emblica) plant, which is more commonly known as Indian gooseberry or amla. Indian gooseberry extract is widely used in Ayurvedic medicine and is associated with numerous benefits, from supporting cardiovascular health to treating diseases. It is also believed to have anti-aging properties, which is why Capros amla extract is used in health, beauty and skincare supplements such as Skin Perfect Anti-Aging With Collagen and Skin Perfect Hair, Skin and Nails.

Functions of Indian Gooseberry

The chemical constituents of amla fruit extract include several vitamins (ascorbic acid, thiamin, riboflavin and niacin), tannins (Emblican A and Emblican B), gallic acid, diterpenes, triterpene lupeol, flavonoids and polyphenols. These active constituents appear to contribute to the antioxidant activity, antidiabetic and antitumor properties, and cardioprotective effects of Indian gooseberry extract.

Sources of Indian Gooseberry Extract

Amla extract is derived from the Emblica officinalis (or Phyllanthus emblica) plant, which is native to India and neighboring areas within Asia. While all parts of the plant may be used in traditional medicine, the Indian gooseberry extract found in dietary supplements is often derived from amla fruit.

Indian Gooseberry Benefits and Uses

The primary uses of Indian gooseberry are related to its antioxidant properties, meaning that it has the ability to protect cells from oxidation damage. This antioxidant effect contributes to other amla benefits, including Capros’ substantiated anti-aging, athletic performance and cardiovascular health claims. By inhibiting the oxidation reaction and preserving healthy cell function, Capros standardized amla extract has the potential to protect against the visible signs of aging, neutralize sweat-induced oxidative effects caused by the release of copper and iron, and maintain normal cardiovascular function.

Studies have also suggested that Indian gooseberry benefits may apply to the treatment of various medical conditions, such as diabetes, jaundice, headaches, inflammation, chronic ulcers and hyperlipidemia.

Side Effects of Indian Gooseberry and Potential Interactions

Supplements containing Indian gooseberry appear to be safe for most adults, and there are currently no known side effects of amla extract. NutraGenesis notes that Capros Indian gooseberry extract is GRAS-affirmed, which means it is “generally recognized as safe” by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

No interactions have been reported between amla extract and other medications; however, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center cautions that the strong antioxidant effects of Indian gooseberry extract may interfere with chemotherapy and radiation therapy.

Visit WebMD for the latest findings concerning amla extract side effects and interactions. As with any medication or health supplement, it is best to consult your physician before taking supplements containing Capros or Indian gooseberry extract.

Amla Extract Research and Studies

A number of studies have been conducted concerning Indian gooseberry extract and its antioxidant effects. In the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, researchers reported that Phyllanthus emblica extracts “have manifested protective effects on organs/tissues from damages induced by chemicals, stresses and aging in animal models” and “have potential in inhibiting the growth of cancer cells and reducing DNA damage induced by chemicals and radiation.”

An article in the Journal of Ayurveda and Integrative Medicine highlighted the anti-aging and skin-enhancing properties of amla extract. These claims have been corroborated by other research, including a study reported in the Journal of Ethnopharmacology, which found that amla fruit extract “effectively inhibits UVB-induced photo-aging in human skin fibroblast.” A recent article published in Pharmacognosy Research highlighted the beneficial effects of Indian gooseberry extract in relation to cardiovascular health, while studies cited in the Journal of Traditional and Complementary Medicine and Phytotherapy Research demonstrated its effectiveness as an anti-inflammatory agent.
