Videos from Winners of the 2015 NPC Patriots and NPC Universe Competitions

A Moment with 2015 NPC Patriots and NPC Universe Winners

There were so many impressive competitions during Independence weekend, including the 2015 NPC Patriots Challenge and the 2015 NPC Universe Championships. We've been checking out all of the videos we can find from these competitions and chose a few to share with you. Spend a few minutes with us watching a few interviews with some of the top competitors, as well as some exclusive moments from these competitions.

2015 IFBB Patriot’s Challenge: Top 3 Pro Bikini Winners

The President of Muscle Contest, Tamer El Guindy, chats with the top 3 Pro Bikini winners at the 2015 IFBB Patriot’s Challenge. 3rd Place – Noy Alexander from Florida. Originally from Laos, Noy was raised in Hawaii, and says her biggest trouble area is her glutes, but it’s also her favorite area to workout. She works out with weights about five days a week. She recommends mixing up your routine and working out your glutes all the time. 2nd Place – Tamara Haddad. She finds that training is a progression and that there should be improvements that can be made every few weeks. Tamara made some changes, and hit her legs and hamstrings hard. She came in a little leaner and a little tighter, and it really paid off. She’s going to continue to work hard for the next qualification. 1st Place – Justine Monroe. She recently placed second in the Arnold, and now she’s placed 1st at this competition. She’s been bringing her best and changing her workout routines to try to bring more balance to her body. Find out what their plans were for post-competition Fourth of July feasting.

Overall Winner in the Bikini Category at the 2015 NPC Patriot's Challenge

New competitor, Ada Bustamante, wins overall in the Bikini category for Novice and for Open. This was her very first show and she did 10 weeks of prep for this contest with infamous trainer, Kim Oddo. She is originally from Mexico City, but she grew up in California. Kim was very happy to see that her hard work really paid off. Her next competition will be the USAs.

Men's Overall Physique Winner at the 2015 NPC Patriot's Challenge

Shirley Moran, VP of Operations for Muscle Contest, interviews Lloyd Taylor the Unlimited Men’s Physique Overall Winner. Lloyd was very thankful to everyone who supported him along the way to get to this place. Lloyd began his training about 10 weeks ago, but it was a challenging start since he is recently recuperating from knee surgery. His girlfriend is the person who helped him stay motivated along the way. He couldn’t be in this position if it wasn’t for his coach, IFBB Pro Mark Byers and all of the people in his incredible support system.

Take a look at this footage from behind the scenes and on stage during the women’s bikini competition at the 2015 NPC Universe Championships. You’ll see some incredible moments during the competition, including some poses and winners.

Pull-Ups Exercise Videos and Tips

Awesome Pull-Ups Exercise Videos and Tips

When it comes to upper body development, pull-ups can be very effective. However, pull-ups are oftentimes an overlooked exercise. As we mentioned in the Bodyweight Training Videos and Tips blog post, pull-ups are one of the three fundamental bodyweight training exercises that build muscle and strength. They are known to develop upper body muscles, including biceps, triceps, lats, traps and abs.

Whether you're a bodybuilder, fitness trainer or just want a great workout, pull-ups should be an integral part of your strength training regimen. They're ideal to warm up and cool down for upper-body sessions, and are a great way to add variety to your workout routine. In addition, you can easily increase the difficulty by performing weighted pull-ups by adding a weight belt around your waist, wearing a weight vest, or holding a dumbbell between your ankles or knees.

We've gathered a few videos about pull-ups for you, including one that shows the difference between chin-ups and pull-ups and another that shows common mistakes. Plus, we found a video that talks about the recent Guinness World Record holder for pull-ups. We've also created a dedicated Pinterest board with Pull-Ups Tips and Videos.

What’s the Difference Between Pull-Ups and Chin-Ups?

Get the lowdown on the major distinctions between a pull-up, chin-up and neutral-grip pull-up. They all concentrate on the biceps, lats, traps, brachialis and posterior delts. You’ll find that the pecs and traps are activated first, followed by the biceps and lats. However, it’s all in where the emphasis is. For example, when we look at the overhand pull-up, we notice that it is easier on the wrists and elbows, while focusing on the forearm flexors, brachialis, brachioradialis and lower traps. Now, when it comes to the neutral chin-up or neutral pull-up, the palms are facing each other, and there is more emphasis on the rhomboid and lats. Whereas the underhand grip chin-up focuses on the biceps and lats more than a neutral pull-up, while also targeting the teres major, posterior delt, rhomboids and lower traps. For more information, check out this video:

How to Avoid Common Mistakes When Doing Pull-ups

While pull-ups are an excellent indication of overall strength and a great exercise to build back muscles, there are five common mistakes people make when doing them. One of the Buff Dudes take us through the most frequent faux pas to help you avoid making them when performing this exercise. In the video, they discuss these five common pull-ups exercise mistakes:

1. Using Your Momentum
2. Elbows in Wrong Position
3. Not Pulling Your Shoulders Down and Back
4. Not Performing Full Range of Motion
5. Not Being Able to Complete a Pull-Up

Breaking the Guinness World Record for Pull-Ups

How many pull-ups can you do in a 24-hour period? When 54-year-old Mark Jordan from Corpus Christi, Texas answers this question, he breaks records. He spent a year preparing for this moment. Not only did he work out and practice, but he also focused on a solid strategy. In November of 2014, Mark was put to the test for a chance to break the Guinness World Record and succeeded by accomplishing a total of 4,321 pull-ups in 24 hours. In March of 2015, Guinness World Records confirmed that Mark Jordan holds the record for Most Pull-ups in 24 hours. Check out his achievement with this video report from USA Today.

Bovine Colostrum Benefits, Uses, Side Effects and Functions

Discover the Function, Sources and Benefits of the Health Supplement Ingredient Bovine Colostrum

Bovine colostrum – also known as bovine immunoglobulin or simply as colostrum – is a milky fluid secreted by a cow’s mammary glands in the first few days after calving, prior to full lactation. Colostrum is also produced by humans and other mammals; however, the primary source of colostrum in dietary supplements is cattle. It contains a number of beneficial substances, including immunoglobulins, lactoferrin, proline-rich polypeptides, cytokines, growth factors, and other vitamins and minerals. Adults can obtain the benefits of colostrum through natural health and bodybuilding supplements such as HGH 30,000 Nanograms pills, DBol-GH, Growth Factor Plus and protein shake mixes.

Functions of Colostrum

The nutrients, antibodies and growth factors contained in colostrum contribute to the health and development of newborns. Similarly, these substances can have beneficial effects for adults when colostrum extract is consumed via dietary supplements. Immunoglobulin and lactoferrin have antiviral and antibacterial properties that support immune system function, while proline-rich polypeptides (PRPs) and cytokines help regulate immune system activity. Furthermore, the cytokines and growth factors in colostrum appear to enhance the protective and repair capabilities of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. Colostrum’s growth factors are also believed to improve athletic performance, increase lean body mass, and accelerate muscle recovery and repair.

Sources of Colostrum

Female mammals secrete colostrum from their mammary glands following the birth of a newborn, before full lactation occurs. Infants consume colostrum during their first few days of nursing. Adults generally obtain colostrum through health supplements that contain bovine colostrum – the extract of a cow’s first milk.

Bovine Colostrum Benefits and Uses

Evidence suggests that the health benefits of bovine colostrum include supporting and stimulating immune system function, preventing infections, providing GI protection, treating diarrhea and colitis, and accelerating healing. Bovine colostrum is also used as an ingredient in human growth hormone (HGH) releasers and bodybuilding supplements, as the naturally occurring growth hormones in colostrum are believed to enhance athletic performance, improve body composition, and promote faster recovery from injuries and intense workouts. These performance-related benefits derive from the growth hormones’ ability to help increase lean muscle mass, metabolize fat for fuel, improve stamina, and stimulate cell and tissue growth.

Side Effects of Bovine Colostrum and Potential Interactions

Dietary supplements containing bovine colostrum are generally considered safe for healthy adults, as few side effects have been reported. However, individuals who are allergic to cow’s milk may also have an allergic reaction to bovine colostrum. There have been rare reports of side effects in HIV-positive patients, such as nausea and vomiting. Colostrum may contain high levels of naturally occurring estrogen, so patients with hormone-sensitive cancer should avoid it. There are no known interactions of bovine colostrum with medications. Information on bovine colostrum contraindications is provided on the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center website, while details on colostrum side effects can be found on WebMD. As with any medication or health supplement, it is best to consult your physician before taking dietary supplements containing bovine colostrum.

Colostrum Research and Studies

Considerable research has been conducted on the effects of bovine colostrum, particularly in relation to its health benefits and impact on athletic performance. Scholarly articles published in Human Vaccines & Immunotherapeutics, the Alternative Medicine Review and the British Journal of Nutrition explored the clinical uses of bovine colostrum and reported that hyperimmune bovine colostrum has been proven effective in treating diarrhea caused by rotavirus, E. Coli, cryptosporidium, shigellosis, C. difficile infection (CDI) and other GI infections.

In terms of athletic performance, body composition, and healing and recovery, numerous studies suggest that bovine colostrum can have positive effects. In the Journal of Applied Physiology, European researchers asserted that bovine colstrum has the ability to naturally increase levels of insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1), which may promote protein synthesis. A review of studies published in Sports Medicine cited evidence suggesting that bovine colostrum supplementation is most effective during periods of high-intensity training and recovery from high-intensity training, producing improved intramuscular buffering capacity and increases in lean body mass. In the Australian Journal of Science and Medicine in Sport, researchers noted that bovine colostrum improves recovery time. Scientists reported in Nutrition that when bovine colostrum is combined with exercise, it may increase bone-free lean body mass in active men and women. And in the International Journal of Sport Nutrition and Exercise Metabolism, researchers stated that colostrum supplementation helped improve leg-press and upper-body strength and generated increases in muscle thickness, lean tissue mass and cognitive function in older adults during resistance training.

For additional bovine colostrum research, refer to the PubMed site sponsored by the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

How to Gain a Safe and Legal Advantage with HGH Supplements

With the summer Olympics just about in full swing, the talk of doping and HGH is in high gear. Every athlete will do just about anything to get the medal and bend every rule without (knowingly) breaking them.

WADA is the World Anti-Doping Agency whose mission is to lead a collaborative global campaign for anti-doping. They are essentially the main authority that athletes can turn to in order to ensure they aren’t breaking any rules. Of course, every sport including the Olympics has their own set of rules that may not conform to WADA’s set of rules.

The burning question is how to bend the rules without breaking? How do you gain the fair advantage over your opponents without cheating? Even more importantly, how do you do it safely for your body? Forget about just winning a medal or gaining the advantage, how do you do it without negatively affecting your overall health? The answer may lie with simple supplementation.

Why inject yourself with hormones and steroids when you can legally take a supplement that simply “supplements” your body and naturally gives you the same affect you would be trying to achieve with HGH or steroid injections?

HGH.com has been creating such supplements, with a focus around natural growth hormone supplements for years and is the leading authority when it comes to legal alternatives to gaining the advantages that you need in order to compete and achieve your health goals. Whether it’s added testosterone, muscle bodybuilding, endurance training, weight loss, or even simple lean mass gain, HGH.com has the best legal supplement for you that does not require a doctor’s prescription. Furthermore, HGH.com’s supplements are safe for your body and conform to almost all WADA’s policies.

We get questioned all of the time on whether our products will pass certain drug tests. The fact of the matter is that all of our products are perfectly legal and we do our best to keep on top of the WADA policies; However, WADA drug lists change quite often and every sport/association do different types of testing. One of the reasons we offer such a diverse catalog of products that are seemingly similar is that if one someone is not allowed to take a certain product, we can through different ingredients still give athletes the ability to achieve their goal. We offer the best hgh supplements for bodybuilding and height growth, in addition to many anti-aging, weight loss, and other helpful supplements.

The products that HGH.com produces and sells are some of the most advanced formula’s that science and technology are able to create today. Athletes, competitors, and bodybuilders from all over the world purchase HGH.com supplements every day to gain the advantage they need that will get their bodies in the shape they crave.
