Which Type of Lifter Squats Longest?

As we mention above, there are differences between bodybuilders, weightlifters and powerlifters. Berlin Strength in Germany thought it would be fun to find out which type of lifter would last the longest in a squat session. Keep in mind, they are speaking German, but the subtitles are in English, when you press the Closed Captioning (CC) button. When Bodybuilders Meet Powerlifters

The Bodybuilder Meets Powerlifter video below shows bodybuilders Harry Irorutola and Felix Valentino do a basic power lifting workout with powerlifters Thomas Faber and Romano Rengal. 2014 NPC Tricky Jackson Classic was a Big Success and Entertaining

Meet the Top Bodybuilding, Physique, Figure and Bikini Contest Winners From the 17th Annual NPC Tricky Jackson Classic on October 11, 2014

IFBB pro and HGH.com sponsored athlete Richard “Tricky” Jackson recently hosted the 2014 NPC Tricky Jackson Classic Championships at The Thoroughbred Center in Lexington, Kentucky, on October 11. Sanctioned by the NPC as a national qualifying event, the 17th annual Tricky Jackson Classic drew fitness enthusiasts of all levels and ages to compete in the full-day series of bodybuilding, physique, figure and bikini competitions.

A total of 176 athletes engaged in 29 separate contests, including numerous crossovers who competed in multiple categories. In addition to the scheduled prejudging and final competitions, the event featured special performances by guest poser Jose Raymond and a Jackson family posing routine featuring Tricky and his three sons: Trey, 12; Reese, 10; and Rashawn, 3. 2014 NPC Tricky Jackson Classic Championships Takes Place This Weekend on October 11

2014 NPC Tricky Jackson Classic Championships Will Bring Top Bodybuilders and Fitness Enthusiasts to Kentucky on October 11 for National Qualifier

Top athletes will converge on Lexington, Kentucky, this weekend to participate in the 2014 NPC Tricky Jackson Classic Championships, which take place Saturday, October 11, at The Thoroughbred Center. The NPC-sanctioned national qualifying event will feature bodybuilding, physique, figure and bikini contests. Prejudging kicks off at 11 a.m., while the finals will take place at 7 p.m.

The annual event was founded by award-winning IFBB pro Richard “Tricky” Jackson and is entering its 17th year. Tricky has long been an HGH.com-sponsored athlete and a champion of our natural HGH releasers and bodybuilding supplements, which is why we were proud to sign on as a co-sponsor of these championships.

The NPC Tricky Jackson Classic event will feature “lots of athletes, lots of surprises and, most of all, lots of fun.” Renowned bodybuilder Jose Raymond – who recently took 3rd place in the 2014 Olympia 212 Showdown and 2nd place at the 2014 IFBB Korea Grand Prix – will take part as a headlining guest poser. Tricky plans to add to the fun by doing a special posing routine with his kids, Porsha, Trey, Reese and Rashawn.

In the run-up to the event, Tricky and Toni Wheeler of TONIcise hosted a posing and preparation clinic at The Factory in Louisville on September 27. For those who missed it, the duo will be running additional pose-down clinics in the near future.

Interested in attending the 2014 NPC Tricky Jackson Classic Championships? Tickets are $20 per person for the prejudging events, while finals are $30 for general admission and $40 reserved. Competitors and fans are also invited to attend an after-party at the host hotel, the Ramada Inn, with food provided and an available cash bar. Registered athletes receive free admission to the after-party; all others pay just $10.

Interval Training on the Elliptical

Get on the elliptical with musculoskeletal expert Rowan Ellis for an intense 10-minute interval-training workout. Throughout the workout, Rowan shares vital exercise techniques to put the most impact on your quadriceps and glutes, while keeping the stress off of your lower back and neck.

The exercise intervals include working hard for 40 seconds and increasing the speed for each interval. There is also a 20-second recovery phase between the work hard phases. After that, there are four build-up phases, where the resistance is turned up each time and there’s a 20-second recovery phase between each here as well.

There are a few common mistakes people tend to make when working out on an elliptical trainer. Tyrosine – also known as L-tyrosine and 2-amino-3-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-propanoic acid – is an amino acid that is found in certain foods and produced by the body. It serves as a building block of neurotransmitters and protein, and supports proper organ function. Individuals seeking to boost their levels of L-tyrosine can obtain it through food sources as well as in natural health and bodybuilding supplements such as HGH 30,000 Nanograms, HGF-MAX, A-Max 50 and whey protein mixes.

Functions of L-Tyrosine

As an amino acid, L-tyrosine plays a role in protein synthesis. L-Tyrosine Benefits and Uses

Since tyrosine is involved in producing epinephrine, norepinephrine and dopamine, it appears to help the body manage the effects of stress. Studies suggest that L-tyrosine may help to enhance memory and mental function under physical and psychological stress, including lack of sleep. It also has been shown to reduce fatigue and increase alertness in individuals who are sleep-deprived.

Numerous sources suggest that L-tyrosine functions as a natural human growth hormone (HGH) releaser, also known as an HGH secretagogue. For this reason, L-tyrosine is believed to have a beneficial effect on athletic performance, helping to build muscle and increase endurance.

Side Effects of L-Tyrosine and Potential Interactions

L-tyrosine supplements are generally considered safe for adults. Some people may experience minor side effects such as nausea, headaches and upset stomach, particularly at high dosages. However, individuals who have been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid) or Graves disease should avoid L-tyrosine supplements, as they can exacerbate these conditions due to increased production of thyroxine.

Interactions are possible with some medications. L-tyrosine has the potential to elevate thyroxine levels too high when taken in combination with synthetic thyroid hormones, and it may interfere with the absorption of levodopa (L-dopa) in patients with Parkinson’s disease. L-tyrosine supplements may also cause a severe increase in blood pressure when taken with a class of antidepressant medications known as monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs). As with any medication or health supplement, it is best to consult your physician before taking dietary supplements containing L-tyrosine.

L-Tyrosine Research and Studies

Numerous research studies have explored the impact of L-tyrosine supplements on mental function, memory and alertness, particularly in relation to physical and psychological stress such as sleep deprivation and cold exposure. One such study published in the Brain Research Bulletin examined the effects of L-tyrosine on cadets during a weeklong military combat training course, and found that supplementation improved cognitive performance while reducing systolic blood pressure. Another group of researchers reported in Aviation Space and Environmental Medicine that L-tyrosine supplements had the ability to counteract cognitive performance decreases in subjects required to perform continuous work after losing a night’s sleep. Similarly, an article in Physiology & Behavior stated that L-tyrosine supplements helped alleviate working memory decrements in subjects exposed to severe cold.

In Amino Acids and Proteins for the Athlete: The Anabolic Edge, author Mauro G. Di Pasquale asserted that amino acids such as tyrosine, arginine, leucine and gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) all may potentiate HGH secretion. Research into L-tyrosine’s effects on athletic performance, muscle growth and endurance remains ongoing; however, clinical evidence in support of these benefits has not yet been published.

Meet the Top 5 Winners From Each Contest at the 2014 Olympia Fitness and Performance Weekend, Including Mr. Olympia, Ms. Olympia and 212 Showdown

Bodybuilders and fitness enthusiasts from around the world recently gathered in Las Vegas for Joe Weider’s Olympia Fitness and Performance Weekend 2014, which was held September 18-21. The main events included eight International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness (IFBB) competitions: the 2014 Mr. Olympia, Ms. Olympia, 212 Showdown, Men’s Physique, Women’s Physique, Fitness Olympia, Figure Olympia and Bikini Olympia.

Additional events were held as part of the Olympia Expo, including Boxing, Karate, Olympic Weightlifting, Pro Powerlifting, Strongman Challenge, Tae Kwon Do, Wrestling and more.

Get the Most out of Circuit-Training Workouts

Have you hit a plateau or just want to switch up your workout routine a bit? Then, you're probably going to enjoy circuit training workouts as much as we do. You'll find they provide the ideal combination of strength exercises and aerobic exercises. There are many benefits to circuit training as well:

  • Easily modifiable for all fitness levels
  • Builds total body strength
  • Increases endurance
  • Stimulates weight loss
  • Breaks plateaus
  • Improves cardiovascular fitness
  • Bans workout boredom

In general, circuit training workouts include six to 10 exercises completed consecutively with little to no rest between each. To get the optimal benefits from circuit training, you should not rest for any more than 30 seconds between exercises. For timed circuit training workouts, beginners may want to start with 30 seconds per exercise and increase the amount of time as you advance. You can also shorten the rest time between exercises.

Let's start out with a maximum results kind of circuit training workout. This routine is designed to define your chest, arms and abs, blast belly fat, and significantly improve your fitness level. Boot Camp-Style Circuit Training Workout

As you can see, circuit training workouts can vary in the types of exercises, as well as the amount of rest between sets. Keep your circuit training workout moving at warp speed by going from one exercise to the next with no rest in between. One of the nicest things about circuit training is that you can switch up your routine. Whether you choose to add different exercises, vary the amount of time for each exercise, increase or decrease rest times, or change your exercise intensity, you can create a circuit to help you reach your goals.
