Hollywood Actors Bodybuilding Workout Videos and Tips

Hollywood Actors Bodybuilding Workout Videos and Tips

Ever wonder how actors attain their chiseled physiques for movie roles like Wolverine, Thor, Iron Man, Captain America and the warriors in 300? Well, so did we. We found some great videos that divulge their bodybuilding workouts, secrets and diets. Plus, we created a star-studded Pinterest board filled with even more Hollywood movie role workouts for you to get an inside look at how these actors transform their bodies to become your favorite big screen characters.

Getting in Shape for the Movie 300

While getting ready to be in the film 300: Rise of the Empire, many of the actors trained over the course of seven months. As they trained, these actor's bodies were put under a lot of muscular and metabolic stress. They never did the same workout twice.

Gerard Butler states, “I think cardio is always a killer. Cardio. Cardio. Cardio. I hate it, but it’s the one that makes the difference. I kind of love to just go in the gym and do weights, but unfortunately, you can’t always get away with that. So, when you combine weights with circuit training, it’s a great way of building muscle in a leaner way and also burning fat because you’re doing a lot of cardio as well.”

Mark Twight, the personal trainer responsible for coming up with the workouts to sculpt those infamous six-pack abs, shares some insight regarding what it takes to get the actors in shape for a film like 300.

Transforming from Jackman to Wolverine

Ever wonder what Hugh Jackman’s diet is like as he prepares to become the Wolverine character? In this video, Hugh Jackman shares his secret, along with what he had to do while filming Les Misérables, which he was working on right before his next Wolverine film. You’ll have to watch the entire video to get the low-down on what he consumes while getting ready to play Wolverine.

Affleck's Top 5 Exercises for The Town Role

Sports nutritionist Rehan Jalali shows us how to do five of the incredible exercises Ben Affleck did with personal trainer Walter Norton, Jr., while preparing for his role in the movie The Town. Affleck's philosophy as he trained for this part was, "Intensity builds immensity."

Jalali is at the Gold's Gym in LA to give us an up-close and personal look at the technique for each exercise:

  • Weighted Pull Ups (Back)
  • Dumbbell Bench Press (Chest)
  • Supinated Curls (Biceps)
  • Walking Lunges (Legs)
  • Hanging Leg Raises (Abs)

Plus, he shares the weight Affleck was using while doing these exercises. What a great way to get lean and tight for the part.

Best Bodybuilding Supplements to Gain Weight, Lean Mass, and Muscle

Best Supplements to Gain Weight with Solid Muscle

Beginner bodybuilders often wonder; why is it so important to gain weight in my bodybuilding career? Isn't the goal to burn fat while gaining muscle? While this is essentially true, the reality is that muscle weighs more than fat by volume. As such, the more muscle you gain and the more fat you'll lose, the more weight you'll gain overall. Of course, if you currently have a skinny frame, weight gain is important to bodybuilding even if you've never set foot in the weight room.

Gaining weight is actually just as difficult for some individuals as losing weight is for others. One way of gaining weight safely is by using natural bodybuilding supplements in combination with a proper strength training routine and a strategic diet, one that includes plenty of protein, complex carbs and healthy unsaturated fats.

Here are some of the best supplements to gain weight with solid muscle:

Ana-GH

ANA-GH by HGH.com
and Purity Select
Created in 2012 by Purity Select, Ana-GH is a natural bodybuilding supplement available from HGH.com. It contains Maca, Horny Goat Weed, Mantha Piperita, Magnesium Stearate and a variety of other natural ingredients like L-Leucine and L-Valine, all designed to work in combination to help you gain weight consisting of solid muscle, safely and naturally. This is accomplished by enhancing your body's natural ability to synthesize muscle from the protein-rich foods you consume.

With the help of Ana-GH, each gram of protein you eat will be better utilized by your body, making for more efficient dieting. Ana-GH is designed to be taken primarily during the bodybuilding off-season as a way of jumpstarting your bulking cycle and delivers results in approximately two weeks. It also has excellent water retention properties, lubing your joints to reduce injury risk during heavy lifting.

Anapolan Max 50

Anapolan Max
Anapolan Max 50 is another one of the best supplements to gain weight, and it's also available from HGH.com. Anapolan Max 50 can be added to your existing bodybuilding supplement regimen in order to allow you to gain an extra 15 pounds of pure, lean muscle in the next 1.5 to 2 months. It's considered a legal steroid, with properties that fall just short of making it an illegal steroid. The ingredients are natural and include Horny Goat Weed, Tribulus Terrestris, Shailaji and L-Tyrosine, which work together to stimulate healthy weight gain similar to Ana-GH. This product is designed for more advanced bodybuilders who are looking to gain weight very quickly.

Dekka

Dekka Legal Mass Builder
Recreated in 2012
Another fantastic supplement that I consider one of the best supplements to gain weight is Dekka, available at HGH.com. Dekka is the most popular legal weight gain supplement on the market, largely due to its lack of side effects and the fact that it reinforces joint health while spurring muscular weight gain. Dekka includes active ingredients like Wild Yam Root, Yucca Bark and Korean Ginseng Root, which also increase your appetite to allow you to pack in more protein with each meal. Only one tab must be taken each day, with or without food.

In late 2012, Dekka's formula was reworked and redesigned by HGH.com and Purity Select to give a more potent formula and additional ingredients to make it more effective than ever before.

ROID X Juice

RoidX Juice
by HGH.com
and Purity Select
Finally, Roid X Juice is one of our supplements that gets great feedback. Roid Juice is used by many bodybuilders after an anabolic cycle or even during. Roid X contains "Tribulus Terrestris", which is known to increase testosterone levels naturally. It also contains Dehydroepiandrosterone, which is thought to give lean body mass, strength, and increased testosterone levels - although scientific studies are still inclusive on this. Lastly, Roid X contains Moomiyo "Black Gold", which is a very strong adaptogenic herbal mineral from Russia that gives strong natural anabolic healing properties. It's often been used by Russian Athletes and Astronauts to increase strength and lean muscle mass due to its incredible properties.
